Speed: The Secret To Making Success Come Quickly

One of the biggest myths about working in the film and television industry (or any industry for that matter) is that you’ve got to put in the work for years on end, and eventually, you’ll end up with the job of your dreams. I’m here to tell you that isn’t the case!

In fact, you can get to your dream job a lot quicker than you realize if you’re simply willing to accept the fact that massive action leads to massive results.

The key to making speed work for you is taking massive action.

What is massive action? It’s doing multiple things at once that will, hopefully, propel you in your intended direction.

So instead of just doing one thing per day to help you on your road to success in the film industry, you might do 10 things per day to lead you down the right path.

Some people call this the shotgun approach. You take one ig shot by doing multiple tasks to drive home the intended result and cross your fingers that just one of those tasks hits its intended target. Or course, if more than one hits target, that’s even better!

You can start doing this today by making a list of every possible thing you could do to get that job of your dreams, even if it sounds outrageous or impossible.

Once you’ve got your list, put the items in order of the greatest possibility of a payoff to the past possibility of a payoff. Then start performing those actions at a rapid pace. Instead of stretching out on of these activities to last a whole day, or even a whole week, set a goal to get three of these activities done in a single day.

Send a letter to that big studio. call the producer of the last film you worked on and ask her if she’s got any more work coming her way. Fax your resume in to that local production house along with some letters of recommendation and a personal note saying how much you admire their work.

The more you do on a daily basis to push yourself out into the world of film and television, the greater your chances are for succeeding and getting to that place you ultimately want to end up.

The secret to using speed to your advantage is pushing yourself. You have to push yourself!

When you use speed correctly, it is likely going to feel like you are overwhelmed or that you’ve put too much on your plate. This can be scary, but as you continue to use speed to your advantage, you will learn that these feeling start to disappear as success begins to find you.
